The kids are in their "new room " together. I switched the baby to my son's room yesterday and put my son in the room with my oldest. The baby naps and goes to bed earlier than the other two and it has been a struggle to get them to sleep in their beds. I've just sort of adopted this "attached parenting" thing involuntarily by having them sleeping with us. So my plan was to put the two big kids together so they can be barricaded in their room if necessary at a more reasonable hour! Not really... I might barricade them later also. ha ha Anyway, whatever made me think that putting the baby and an almost four year old in the room together would work, I don't know. Oh I know, stereotypes. I put the "girls" together and left Doodle to battle it out alone in his room. If I would have put a teeny bit more thought into this, I would have realized it was a stupid idea! Nonetheless, later is better than never so, the switched happened yesterday.
The baby was put down and then I read a story to Pax and Jersey and turned the lights out, except for the closet light with the cracked door, which Pax had to readjust a few times til he got it right. They opted for both sleeping in the bottom part of the trundle, which was fine, so I laid down with them and they went to sleep in about 10 minutes!! Let's keep out fingers crossed. Now if I could just get through a reading of Sleeping Beauty without the same 20 questions every night. Has Jersey never heard the story? Does her memory wipe clean every morning when she wakes up? Talk about the definition of insanity! ha
Well, later today is going to be the trial run for the "Agave Marshmallows" recipe. I want to make gluten free, all natural rice krispies for the kids so I have this recipe for the marshmallows. Regular marshmallows and marshmallow cream have blue dye #1 in them to make them nice and white!!! And that makes Doodle nice and crazy so, my rice krispie adventure will begin this afternoon. If the recipe is yummy I will post it.
As an update on my youngest Fin, I started adding a little whole milk to her formula last week for the transition off formula to milk for her one year birthday. She reacted horribly!! Severe, and I mean severe diarrhea (not a pretty word) and very cranky, probably due to her stomach hurting. So we have an appointment with the pediatrician for that and her one year checkup. I think they think she might be lactose intolerant. Really????? Don't we have enought to deal with, with the gluten free, dye free, all natural already? If we have to take milk away, well I don't know, I just might have to go buy a new outfit or something!! I know everything happens for a reason and God never gives us more than we can handle but I wonder if God had to prepare gluten free, dye free, all natural lactose free recipes, he might give us a break!! ha ha ha
Well the kids are kind of quiet and they have a habit of "trapping" the baby under piles of stuff so...I'm off. I'll tell that story next time! Happy day people!
hey there ! no worries about the no milk thing, I know it sounds overwhelming if that turns out to be the case but I'll help you out. I haven't had milk in years and frankly don't miss it at all. I drink Almond milk alot and hemp milk too, both are fantastic with protein, vitamins and nutrients PLUS no injected growth hormones or steriods from the animal. Its cake, I'll walk you through it if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteblog is great, love hearing the daily stories of the kids and the whole fam:)
