Homemade Fabric Softener

6 cups distilled white vinegar
1 cup baking soda
Enough water to make a gallon
Your favorite essence oil fragrance (10-20 drops) I just do a solid squirt

Pour vinegar in a large bucket, add the baking soda.  Mixture will fix and "expand".  Once it settles, add your oil of choice and swirl around in bucket.  Pour liquid into gallon container and fill remainder with water.  Give it a gentle shake and you are ready to go!  Use one cup per load or fill the liquid fabric softener container in your washer til it is full (that is what I do).  It does not smell like vinegar at all but it makes your clothes really soft!
