I am not a late riser, but not too early either. My almost one year old Finley however has decided that her mother's day present to me is to get my butt up at 6:30am. It's 7am and she has already turned over the dog's water bowl (left in the living room by my husband) and crawled around in it getting herself sopping wet. I have changed her diaper only for her to immediately poop in the new one and am now waiting on my coffee to brew! That will be "my" mother's day moment. The moment my lips touch that wonderful hot liquid, mixed with a little half/half and agave...mmmmm. Okay I'm having a moment about my coffee. I do love my coffee. :-)
I am notorious for letting my kids sleep too late because it is so peaceful. If I would just get up at an obscene hour I could have this every day. I know this logically but I like having my cake and eating it too. Until night falls and they are running around like crazy apes way too late for my liking. Then I regret this little morning decision of mine.
I was told by my four year old Jersey yesterday that there was no way I could fit through the newly made pet door (which is huge by the way). She apparently thinks my butt is a lot bigger than it is!! I surprised her by slipping right through. Then she tries to tell me she knew I could do it all along. Do we have a future lawyer on our hands or what?! As she sits on my lap later that evening, and I do mean LATE, thanks to the sleeping in, she puts her hands on either side of my face and caresses my cheeks. She says "This is what you do when you love somebody." Uuggh, okay she can tell me my butt is big whenever she wants if this is what comes later!
I've been trying to ignore this poop filled diaper Fin is sporting just long enough to finish my post. However she keeps trying to type on the computer, is yelling at me when I don't let her and generally just reaks. I suppose I'm a bad mother if I let her go more than 10 or 15 minutes. Oh wait, she's happy again! Just a couple more minutes. I heard my coffee pot ding! That should get me off of here in a jiffy. My love affair with coffee is crucial.
Well poop and coffee awaits (yes in that order). I'm not all bad you know!!
P.S. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL MOM'S!! You deserve more than you'll ever receive! :-)
